Qualifications: Requirements and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years relative experience and/or education in a related field (plumber, pipe fitter, sewer or
water work) would be considered an asset
• 2 years of golf course maintenance experience would be considered an asset
• Understanding and enjoyment of the game of golf would be considered an asset
• First Aid certificate would be considered an asset
• Pesticide Applicator Certificate would be considered an asset
• Other combinations of education and experience may be considered

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Working knowledge of safe use, mixing and application of chemicals and commercial products
• Understanding of WHMIS principles
• Able to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with customers and team members
• Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interpret shift tasks from a written
list left by a supervisor
• Able to stay on task even when completing jobs that may be very routine or mundane
• Able to manage and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced work environment
• Able to manage and work efficiently with minimal direction and supervision

Other Requirements:
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• Valid BC Driver's license with acceptable Driver's Abstract
• Legally entitled to work in Canada


Description:

The Irrigation Technician ensures effective operations of irrigation equipment by completing repairs and maintenance on the irrigation system. Reporting to the Grounds Superintendent, and working as a key member of the Maintenance Team, this position works to ensure that the irrigation system working efficiently and effectively to support the goals of the club.
