Supported Child Care Worker

  Internal / External Job Posting 15th May, 2019   Position:      Supported Child Care Worker                                                                                  Permamemt Part Time   Job Summary: Under the direction of the Supported Child Development Consultant/Supervisor, the Supported Child Care Worker will provide the extra staffing support to the child care centre in order for children with extra support needs to fully participate in the child care setting chosen by their families. Signposts And Promises

The Fort St. John North Peace Museum and the Alaska Highway Community Society have worked together to produce a book that compiles research and stories collected during the process to nominate sites along the Alaska Highway Corridor as a National Historic Site. Written by Julie Harris and Frank Edwards, Signposts and Promises: Canada and the Alaska Highway is a beautifully designed and lavishly illustrated large-format book that celebrates the Alaska Highway’s extraordinary natural and cultural landscape.   This book is now available at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum and is priced at $29.95.

Sponsorship Of Spouses And Partners

SUCCESS Immigrant Settlement and Integration Program conducts another free educational workshop - this time it is called "Sponsorship of Spouses and Partners". Our guest speaker, a certified immigration consultant, will tell you everything you need to know about bringing your loved ones from overseas to Canada. All questions will be answered. The workshop will take place at Community Bridge building, just across from the main Post Office. The start time is 6:00pm on Thursday, May 30. Light refreshments will be provided at no cost. Walk To End Als

Please join us on June 2nd for the 2nd annual Walk to End ALS (yes, the name has changed a little!) Registration for the event will begin at 10am. There will be food, music, games, raffles, activities and lots for the whole family to do. The walk is about 4km long but the route brings you back to the Greenspace multiple times, if you need to shorten your distance.We are encouraging you to sign up teams this year and challenge other teams to raise money as well. Agents Of Discovery

In collaboration with the City of Fort St John, SUCCESS Immigrant Settlement and Integration Program conducts a sport and fun event for families, called Agents of Discovery. The event will start at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the entrance to the Fish Creek Community Forest, by the Northern Lights College. This is going to be a fascinating event, especially for families with children under 12. With a lot of physical exercise, logical thinking and resourcefullness involved, this will be a positive and encouraging contest. The event is absolutely free!
