North Peace Restorative Justice Program“Restoring Relationships, Healing Community”North Peace Justice Society has been in operation for six years in Fort St. John. Working with our local RCMP detachment we have received hundreds of referrals on crimes ranging from shoplifting to burglaries and vandalism to neighbourhood disputes. The program targets first time offenders of all ages who have been diverted from the formal court process. We are a volunteer based program that relies on the dedication of Volunteer Facilitators and Board members to keep the program active in our community. In an effort to become more community based, we have recently moved into our new office at 10142 101st Avenue (Execu Place). In order to celebrate our newly structured program with the community we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our Meet and Greet on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2004 at the Quality Inn Northern Grande, from 7:00 until 9:00PM. The evening will provide an opportunity for businesses, community members, and community leaders to hear what our program is doing in Fort St. John and how you can play a role in continuing to provide community healing. If you are interested in learning more about the RJ Program we’ll see you at our Meet and Greet or please call our Program Coordinator, Valerie Bennett, at 263-9209 or email her at restorativejustice@shaw.ca Community healing is a cornerstone of the philosophy ofRestorative Justice |
