Our shelter has been pretty full lately. We now have a large variety of pets of all shapes and sizes from very young to the senior citizen types, and all ages in between. We've got lazy pets, busy pets, large pets, small pets, happy pets, and sad pets, and we definitely have furry pets! While many of the newest animals are not available for adoption yet, we would like the public to be aware of what we deal with on a regular basis. Sometimes we experience chilly or very hot weather, and we are not able to keep all of the animals indoors if all the kennels are full, so we'd love to have your help. "How can I help?" you may ask. There are so many ways! We need volunteers of all kinds. After filling out a volunteer form at the shelter, and getting a free criminal records check at the RCMP (it does take time, so please don't wait), you will be able to join us in our efforts to help the animals of the North Peace area. Children must be under parental supervision at all times and cannot volunteer at the shelter on their own until they are at least 16. Here are just a few of the things that volunteers can do: Cage/Kennel cleaning Yard cleaning Dog walking Cat cuddling Making toys for cats Helping with fundraising events (please see the shelter for details and let us know if you wish to do something) Fostering special needs animals Laundry (a never ending task) Donating both money and items on our wish lists Shelter maintenance (fixing all the things that are broken or helping us upgrade) Lawn mowing or shoveling snow Clearing or sweeping the parking lot ETC.!
