Student Employment Opportunity

The Fort St. John Public Library is currently seeking a dynamic creative student to work in our Summer Reading Club.  The reading program is designed to encourage children to improve and maintain their reading levels over the summer.  Duties include promoting the program in local schools and in the community, developing and conducting children’s story times and community outreach activities.

 

The ideal candidate will be an energetic individual who enjoys working with children, has strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and is able to work both independently and as part of a team.  Preference will be given to students planning a career in a child-related field.  The successful applicant must have attended school full-time the preceding academic year, and intend to return to school full-time during the forthcoming academic year. As this is a youth employment initiative, applicants must be 30 years of age or younger.

 

Hours of work:  9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.,  Monday – Friday

Salary:  $14.00/hr

The Fort St. John Public Library is a BCGEU shop and a criminal record check is mandatory.
