With the summer about to begin, 4-H members of the Peace Region will soon be winding down their 4-H year. But not before Peace Regional 4-H Days on the June 25-27 weekend! The event will be held at Evergreen Park in Grand Prairie and is a chance for all Peace region 4-H members to showcase this year’s 4-H project work. The Lewis Hawkes and Drysdales arenas will be filled with exhibits and stalls for people to come check out.
At 8:30 the opening ceremonies will commence, which will mark the official start to Peace Regional 4-H Days. As the day goes on, there will be a variety of activities for members to take part in and the general public to watch. There will be a judging competition, beef and horse show for members compete in, and a bench show, which provides an opportunity for spectators to be able to see all of the different project items that 4-Hers have made throughout their club year. From food to photography, crafts to scrapbooking, there is something for everyone to see. The evening will be for supper and awards, as well as a dog and pony competition for a fun-filled Saturday night.
Sunday’s canine show will be a time for 4-H canine members to show off their project animal, as well as their handling skills. The day will also continue with the beef and horse classes and the life skills bench show. All members of the public are welcome to come down and see the talents and hard work that 4-Hers from around the Peace region put in year round. Admission is free, and we hope to see you all there!
