It’s the time of year again for the North Peace Potters’ Guild Summer Solstice Chili Bowl Bash Fundraiser. This is a Mexican themed evening held near the longest day of the year, this year on June 18th.  It is the third annual event.

A $25.00 ticket, bought in advance, buys you a chili dinner served in a specially hand made bowl, which you will chose and which you get to take home at the end of the evening. Desert and beverage are included. This is a non alcohol family friendly event.  You will choose from among 6 chilis cooked by competitors in our chili competition.

Six competitors from the community vie for the privilege of having their name attached to the tiny chili trophy. It is a people’s choice award. Competitors are being sought from the community. Do you have a wonderful family recipe and time to cook it? Previous winners were Moose FM. and 101FM "The Bear". Who will challenge this year?

Only 100 tickets will be sold.

During the evening guests are asked to peruse and bid on some 20 items in the silent auction. Many of the items are hand made locally. Some follow the Mexican hot pepper theme.

There will be a 50/50 draw.

The evening ends with the bashing of the piniata.  Children first. Adults if it doesn’t break easily J

Place. At the North Peace Potters’s Guild studio in the Artspost. 10324, 94th Avenue,

Time. Starts at 6, over by 9.

This is a major fund raiser for the guild which offers studio space in the community and classes in the fall and winter semesters. Funds raised go towards maintaining the studio operation.
