North Peace Potters Guild News Feb 2007
At the North Peace Potters Guild the current session of classes, which includes instruction on the use of a potters wheel, is going well. Those who have tried it will know that throwing a pot on the wheel is a bit like learning to ride a bicycle, or to swim, or to skate. Slow and frustrating at first but in the end, success. Then one never loses the skill. Here are a few pictures of students working on their first pots. Stay tuned to see the work as it progresses.
The Guild is still looking for a place to which to relocate. However some weekend workshops in “raku style pottery” are being planned for the spring. This is a process used to make pottery which involves fast firing in an outdoor kiln. It is well suited to our longer days after the snow has left.
If you would like to be on a contact list for these workshops, for regular classes or would like more information please call Heather at 785 5550 or email her at scarab@pris.ca
