| So goes another year in the Fort St. John Men's Basketball League. With all the teams returning from last year, one with a new sponsor and another with a new name and a few players switching teams. The league looked to dethrone D. Bauer Mechanical. With an undefeated season the year before, D. Bauer was looking to continue the streak. Avenging a loss in the first game of the season to D. Bauer, Kal Tire won the next 3 against D. Bauer to battle them for first place all year. The last game of the regular season saw D. Bauer and Kal Tire tied with 12 -3 records. In an 85 - 73 win, D. Bauer won the regular season trophy over Kal Tire. The playoffs saw the top two teams dominate their games by 20 points. The final started with a back and forth battle between D. Bauer and Kal Tire. With a key injury midway through the first half, D. Bauer was lucky to have another of their players show up just after the injury. The half ended with D. Bauer hitting a 3 - pointer to take a 24 - 23 lead into the break. D. Bauer jumped out to a 14 point lead in the second half with Kal Tire making a late charge at the end to finish the game 59 - 52. |
