First Nations Relations Analyst
$56,478.64 - $64,337.78 annually plus $47.84 Bi-weekly Isolation Allowance for the Fort Nelson location

This posting is to establish an eligibility list for future permanent and/or temporary vacancies.
1 immediate position available in Fort St. John.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is the Province’s agency responsible for land and resource management in B.C., which includes. Operating on a provincial land base of over 94 million hectares, the Ministry ensures the sustainable management of forest, wildlife, water and other land based resources; works with Indigenous and rural communities to strengthen and diversity their economies; and, supports activities that provide environmental, economic, cultural and social benefits.

The First Nations Relations Analyst supports the Authorizations team through developing, coordinating, analyzing and reporting out consultation and permitting information. The role is responsible for managing databases of consultation and permitting information, supporting the coordination of consultation and authorizations tasks, leading and project managing process improvement deliverables, and developing tools and processes to support the implementation and monitoring of consultation requirement in support of decision making and resource management initiatives in the Northeast Region.

Qualifications for this role include:
β€’ Completed post-secondary education in a discipline related to First Nations studies, public administration, natural; resources, political or social sciences, law or communications; OR
β€’ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:
β€’ Experience working with First Nations communities.
β€’ Experience supporting multiple teams on a variety of projects.
